I am so happy to be here on this beautiful Sabbath day.  I hope you are also happy to be here.  Welcome to everyone.  If you are visiting for the first time and want to make Grant’s Town you home church, kindly let us know.  If you would like to know more how to live a godly Christian life please indicate on the welcome card and we will happy to minister to you.

Note these special announcements below.  I left them in this week to let you know that they are very important and I am expecting you to respond.

Please, do not forget the raisin contest.  This is a serious contest for everyone, even those over age 20.  There is a spiritual lesson in this activity.  Bring your sun-ripened raisins to the pastor on a Sabbath day.  Go to www.soencouragement.org/gt to find out how to make raisins.  The first to bring a homemade, sun-ripened raisin to the pastor on a Sabbath day will receive a prize.

Remember you can participate during the sermon by using a text messenger, WhatsApp, etc.  The pastor is inviting persons with smart photos or iPads to bring them to church only for participating in the service.  Hence, he is inviting individuals to send a message to him live while he is speaking.  He will have his cell phone on. It could be a question or comment that he can read and respond to with identifying the person.  Let’s try this out from today.  The first person I received a message from via 477 4002 on WhatsApp or Text message will be awarded.   Let us keep alert if church at all times.

      Happy Sabbath!

BIBLICAL SPIRITUALITY KEY POINTS

Can we stop performing a specific sinful activity?  Yes, with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Will be ever reach the point in our current life that we will not be able to sin? Can we be sin-proof now? No.  That will only be possible when we are glorified, after the second coming.

Can we absolutely loose the desire to sin at all in this present life? No.  This is only possible after the second coming.  However, having a desire is not necessarily wrong.

Would we ever cease being sinners in this present life? No

The goal of the Christian is to daily depend on Jesus to strive for holiness in this present world so we will enjoy glorification after Christ comes.

EDUCATION TIPS

Even a child is known by his doings…  Proverbs 20 : 11

Character development is a work of a lifetime, but it is in the early years that the basic foundation is laid. There may be major revisions during the school and adolescent stages, but after that, remodelling becomes much more difficult – and more painful.  It’s like trying to bend the trunk of a young tree. It can still be done – but not nearly as easily as during the first few years.   Taken from Building Your Child’s Character from the Inside Out By Dr. Kay Kuzma

Lillian Forbes, Education Secretary, would like to thank the education committee, the students, parents, teachers and all those who helped to make this Education Day a success. Special thanks are extended to Nelson Bain Sr., Alexis Scott and Gaylene Lloyd.

The Education Department invites YOU to join us for an exciting Adventist Youth Hour on LITERACY on April 18.  Don’t miss it!!!  Special guests will be in attendance and books will be given out.  See you there!

POETRY FEST

The Grants Town Children’s and Adolescent Ministry Poetry Fest will be held on Sabbath April 11 at 6:00 pm. All entries need to be in on or before Wednesday April 8th.  Entries submitted after that time will be accepted at the discretion of the judges.  All children 5 - 14 are invited to be a part of this grand occasion.  All entrants will be rewarded!  See Sis. Cherry Nesbitt or her team members if you require additional information.
